George A Walker Ltd continues to deliver major VRS upgrade works across the trunk road network for Bear Scotland at locations including the M8, M9, A68 and other key routes. These projects typically involve the removal of outdated vehicle restraint systems and the installation of new barriers to current standards. The works also include associated civil engineering elements, such as the removal of old red chips in the central reserve of the M8 and the installation of new Terram and replacement chips. More recently, the team has also installed ReBloc concrete barrier systems at Hermiston Gait on the M8, together with the required excavation and concrete track works to support the new system.
